The Teachers Professional Development Academy (TPDA) is a specialized teacher training and continuous professional development institution established to bridge the growing gap in teaching quality across private and public schools in Nigeria.
What We're All About
The Academy is designed for graduates and professionals who have passion for teaching but do not possess formal educational training or teaching background. Through structured short courses, practical classroom exposure, mentorship, assessment, and certification, the Academy equips teachers with the foundational knowledge, skills, ethics, and methodologies required for effective classroom delivery.
Mrs Shakirat Shittu
Director of Academic Affairs and Training
Mrs. Shakirat Shittu is an experienced education professional with over 10 years of teaching experience across several schools and institutions in Nigeria. She holds a B.Tech in Food Science and Technology from Federal University of Technology Minna and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from Federal College of Education Zuba.
She has participated in several professional development programmes, including the HP Mentorship Programme, 1Million Teachers BlackBelt Certification, Jolly Phonics Training, and Effective Handwriting workshops.
At TPDA, she leads Academic programmes, Curriculum development, and Teacher training initiatives focused on improving teaching excellence and educational outcomes.
